About The Work

Brâncuși_Sleeping Muse visually expresses the anxiety inherent in human nature and explores the spirituality of overcoming it. The artist metaphorically portrays this inner anxiety through the ever-changing movements of clouds and the ripples of a swimming pool swaying in the wind.
 
The clouds, meticulously layered with small brushstrokes, create a sense of vitality, hinting at the clear sky looming behind. The mountain between the pool and the sky is rendered solely in black, bold and cool, imbuing the entire composition with a sense of stability and balance. These bold brushstrokes, contrasted with the small, delicate strokes of the clouds, create a formative rhythm.
 
Sleeping Muse, located at the center of the painting, embodies Brancusi's minimalist philosophy, presenting the subject simply yet clearly. Through this, the artist connects her artistic perspective with her spiritual attitude, expressing the process of calming her inner turmoil. The sculptural elements of form, color, and brushstrokes organically balance each other and become alive within the composition.
 
The flat space in the work rejects traditional perspective and sculptural techniques, creating depth through overlapping layers. This formative contrast and the combination of proprietary sculptural images simultaneously reveal anxiety, overcoming, and exploration of the inner self.
