《The Medium : Colored, Brushed》, 2023.04.14 – 2023.06.07, IMSOOBIN GALLERY
Im Sunny (b.1975) is holding a solo exhibition, The Medium: Colored, Brushed at IMSOOBIN GALLERY 1 and 2 (formerly Ruach Gallery) in Yongsan until June 7. The exhibition aims to showcase the presence of the artist's works through the concepts of flatness and medium in painting, centered on 'color' and 'brushstrokes'.

Artist Im Sunny has been creating self-replicative self-portraits by projecting herself onto popular media outlets like movies, news, and dramas. In this exhibition, the artist presents works that superimpose her image onto scenes from her favorite dramas.

Harmonize the Formal Language of Painting with Emotional Depth
Since 2015, my painting practice has been grounded in a sustained inquiry into the fundamentals of the medium. Beginning with a formal investigation, I have explored the core components of painting—flatness, line, color, brushstroke, point of view, and layered surfaces—placing these elements at the center of my work.
